Team USA Basketball Vs. Argentina Final Score: U.S. Wins, 109-83, Moves On To Gold Medal Game

Team USA Men's Basketball defeated Argentina, 109-83, on Friday in the semifinals at the 2012 London Olympics.

The U.S. was not able to pull away from Argentina until the second half of the game. In the first half, the U.S. had several runs which were matched by Argentina which kept the game close. Manu Ginobili beat the halftime buzzer with a three-pointer to cut the U.S. lead to seven at the break.

In the second half, the U.S. never ran into foul trouble and shot very well from outside the arc. The U.S. made 18-of-42 three-pointers in the game. The U.S. also held Argentina to 45 percent shooting from the floor for the game. The bench for Argentina never got going and their stars couldn't keep up with the pace of the U.S. scoring without getting help.

Kevin Durant led all scorers with 19 points. LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony both had 18 points while Kobe Bryant chipped in 13 points. Manu Ginobili led Argentina with 18 points while Carlos Delfino and Luis Scola both had 15 points.

The U.S. will meet Spain in the Gold Medal game on Sunday while Argentina will play Russia for the Bronze medal on Sunday.
