Red Sox Vs. Tigers Lineups: Ryan Kalish Starts Against Rick Porcello

The Red Sox are after their fifth straight win and a sweep of the Detroit Tigers as they send Aaron Cook to the mound against Rick Porcello. First pitch is at 7:10 p.m. with broadcasts on NESN, ESPN, and WEEI.

Ryan Kalish will make his way back into the Red Sox linuep after the injury to Ryan Sweeney opened up a space for his return to the major leagues. While Kalish struggled heavily in his initial stint with the 2012 team, Kalish has been excellent since he went back down to Pawtucket, hitting .307/.388/.533 in 75 at bats. Kalish will bat eighth, playing right field as Cody Ross takes over as the DH.

The odd-man out on the night will be Kelly Shoppach, as the Sox get back to a more normal lineup which does not feature both catchers. That'll make things a lot safer for them in case of injury.
