The jumping portion of the equestrian individual eventing finalized Tuesday, and Boston, Ma. native Karen O'Connor finished with a ninth-place finish out of 25 riders. Overall, Germany's Michael Jung took home the gold medal, while Sweden's Sara Algotsson Ostholt and Germany's Sandra Auffarth earned a silver and bronze medal, respectively.
O'Connor, who's competing in her fifth and probably her final Olympic Games, finished with a point total of 53.80, which was well behind Jung (40.60), Ostholt (43.30) and Auffarth (44.80). O'Connor, who rode the horse Mr. Medicott, was the top Team USA finisher, as teammate Phillip Dutton (81.10) finished in 23rd place. Dutton rode Mystery Whisper.
