2012 Summer Olympics: Daily Preview Of Events

With the 2012 London Olympics in full swing, the United States gears up for the first full week of competition.

So far, so good for the Americans who only trail China in the medal count 12 to 11. The U.S. has looked solid in many of the team events such as basketball and seems poised to take home much more hardware in the pool as well.

On Monday, countries will have a chance to add to their totals in the following events:

  • Men's 10m synchronized platform (diving)
  • Women's individual epee (fencing)
  • Men's team final (gymnastics)
  • Women's 57 kg (judo)
  • Women's 73 kg (judo)
  • Women's 10m air pistol/women's skeet final
  • Men's 200m freestyle (swimming)
  • Men's 100m backstroke (swimming)
  • Women's 100m backstroke (swimming)
  • Women's 100m breaststroke (swimming)
  • Women's 58 kg (weightlifting)
  • Men's 62 kg (weightlifting)

The swimming events undoubtedly highlight the day for most, with the other competitions providing ample drama as well.
