The London Olympics officially get underway on Friday with the Open Ceremonies, and before any medals are handed out Sports Illustrated's Brian Cazeneuve took on the daunting task to project medal winners in every single Olympic event.
Cazeneuve predicts that the United States will win the overall medal count with 99 over China who are looking at 97 medals, but for the all important Gold Medal count there is a projected tie at 42 between China and the United States.

As for local Boston athletes there are four who are projected to leave London with medals in hand:
• Tina Charles, basketball, gold medal
• Asjha Jones, basketball, gold medal
• Aly Raisman, gymnastics, floor exercise, silver medal
• Elena Pirozhkova, wrestling, 63 kg division, bronze medal
