The Atlantic Coast Conference released its preseason media poll for the 2012 football season on Monday, and the Boston College Eagles are predicted to finish second-to-last in the Atlantic Division. Boston College received 181 points in the poll, 33 better than last-place Maryland Terrapins. The Florida St. Seminoles were the consensus favorite to win the ACC.
In the Coastal Division, the Virginia Tech Hokies were projected as the champion, while Clemson Tigers wide receiver Sammy Watkins was voted as the conference' preseason Player of the Year.
Not one Boston College player received a vote for Player of the Year nor did any media member predict the Eagles would make the ACC Championship Game.
Overall, this is the second straight season FSU is the preseason favorite to win the conference crown. Last season, Clemson defeated Virginia Tech in the ACC Championship Game.
