Tour de France 2012 Results: Luis Leon Sanchez Wins Stage 14, Bradley Wiggins Still Race Leader

Tacks and nails, oh my. That was the story Sunday at the 2012 Tour de France, as unruly fans spoiled a Stage 14 victory for Spaniard Luis Leon Sanchez. According to reports from race director Jean-Francois Pecheux, 30 bicyclist suffered flat tires or damage to their bikes when fans tossed tacks and nails onto the road.

One of those riders impacted by the sabotage was overall leader Bradley Wiggins, who despite finishing 15 minutes behind the leader will still wear the yellow jersey heading into Stage 15. Wiggins still owns a two minute and five second lead over second-place Christopher Froome.

Tejay Van Garderen is the top American rider as he sits in 7th place overall, and sits six minutes and 57 seconds behind Wiggins.
