Tour de France 2012, Stage 12: TV Coverage, Route And More

The 2012 Tour de France heads out of the Alps during Stage 12 on Friday. The 226-kilometer trek, the longest of the 20 stages on the Tour, features two Category 1 climbs, the Col du Grand Cucheron and Col du Granier, in the first 80 kilometers. The rest is largely on flat land, however, which the sprinters will be sure to take advantage of.

Bradley Wiggins strengthened his grasp on the yellow jersey Thursday during Stage 11. He now leads 2:05 over his next closest competitor, Sky Procycling teammate Christopher Froome.

Fans can watch the race starting at 6:30 a.m. Eastern time on the NBC Sports Network. The race will also be available via live stream on Tour de France live, subscription required.
