Red Sox Vs. Orioles Lineups: Dustin Pedroia Returns

The Red Sox will have Dustin Pedroia back in the lineup on Tuesday evening as they take on the Baltimore Orioles. First pitch will be at 7:10 EST with broadcasts on NESN and WEEI.

After a day of consideration following Dustin Pedroia's Sunday batting practice, the Sox have decided that their star second baseman is well enough to take the field once again. It's been over a week since Dustin Pedroia aggravated a lingering thumb injury, and early reports suggested that he could be out for as long as a month, but the always-willing infielder says he's good to go, and at least for now the organization is willing to take his word for it.

Pedroia will return to his traditional spot in the lineup, batting second after Scott Podsednik as Daniel Nava moves all the way down to eighth. It's not really a demotion for the hot-hitting left fielder, however, so much as a statement on just how deep the order has suddenly become.
