2012 MLB Mock Draft: Red Sox Targeting 3B Stephen Piscotty, RHP Shane Watson In First Round?

The Boston Red Sox have two first round picks (#24 and #31) as the 2012 MLB Draft begins on Monday. ESPN's Keith Law has revealed his final 2012 MLB Mock Draft and has some insight on who the Red Sox could be picking up tonight (via ESPN Insider $).

With the No. 24 pick, Law projects that Boston will select Stanford's third baseman, Stephen Piscotty (6-3, 215). However, Law does note that he's heard the Sox linked with Texas A&M outfielder Tyler Naquin as well.

With the 31st pick, Law sees the Red Sox potentially taking right-handed pitcher Shane Watson (6-4, 190) out of Lakewood High School in California.

Overall, Law feels like Boston might go for a "safer" pick at 24 and then try for a prep pick at 31.

The MLB draft begins at 7 p.m. on MLB Network and will also be livestreamed on MLB.com.
