Wimbledon 2012 Scores And Results: Andy Roddick Done In England

Andy Roddick gave it everything he had in the 2012 Wimbledon third round against Spain's David Ferrer. Unfortunately for the 30th ranked American, it wasn't nearly enough.

Roddick fell to Ferrer in four sets after looking masterful in the first. Roddick won the first set 6-2 before getting knocked out soon thereafter. No. 7 Ferrer took care of business to move into the quarterfinals, beating Roddick 2-6, 7-6 (10-8), 6-4, 6-3.

In other news, Mardy Fish helped to carry the flag for the Americans, polishing off German-born David Goffin in straight sets. Don't be fooled however, Goffin forced two tiebreaks with Fish before finally bidding the All England Club adieu, 6-3, 7-6 (8-6), 7-6 (8-6).

On the women's side of the draw, Serena Williams held on for deal life against No. 25 Jie Zhang. In what was supposed to resemble a cakewalk, Williams had to stave off the pesky Zhang in three sets, 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, 9-7.
