Kevin Youkilis Trade Rumors: Phillies, Diamondbacks Seen In Toronto Scouting Third Baseman

Despite denials by the Boston Red Sox front office brass, it seems like the trade rumors are out on third baseman Kevin Youkilis. According to The Boston Globe writer Nick Cafardo, the Philadelphia Phillies and Arizona Diamondbacks are in the city of Toronto, the host of Sunday's series finale between the Sox and Blue Jays, to scout Youkilis.

This tidbit comes a few days after Boston general manager Ben Cherington said the team isn't trying to trade the third basemen, who has been with the team for nine seasons. Cherington was dismissing claims from CBS Sports reporter Danny Knobler, who Tweeted Friday morning that Boston is "telling teams they definitely intend to trade Youkilis."

Youkilis, who's currently hitting a career-low .253 with just four home runs, is in the starting lineup and is batting fifth in the series finale with Toronto.
