After their come from behind 6-5 victory over the Miami Marlins yesterday, the Boston Red Sox (36-33) look to extend their winning streak to six games as they start a three game series against the Atlanta Braves (37-32) tonight at Fenway Park.
The Red Sox will send Jon Lester (4-4, 4.53 ERA) to the mound, looking to continue his strong run of form lately. Lester gave up seven hits and three earned runs in six and two thirds innings in Boston's 4-3 win over the Chicago Cubs on June 16th.
The Braves are coming into the series with a bit of momentum as well, winning the last two games of their series against the New York Yankees. Atlanta will counter Lester with Jair Jurrjens (0-2, 9.37), who has spent the last two months at AAA Gwinnett following a horrific April. While at Gwinnett, Jurrjens went 3-4 with a 5.18 ERA in 10 starts.
