With a score of 6-under-par, David Mathis leads on Thursday at the 2012 Travelers Championship TPC at River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn.
Included in Mathis' leading first round, was a hole-in-one on the par-3, 158 yard 11th hole. The hole-in-one came during a stretch where Mathis hit birdie or better on six out of seven holes.
Vermont native Keegan Bradley finished his opening round at 2-under-par and tied for 24th. He had three birdies and one bogey on the day.
Fredrik Jacobson, the defending Travelers Championship winner, finished his opening round one shot back of the lead with a 5-under-par 65 round. The 2012 Masters champ, Bubba Watson, shot 4-under-par on Thursday and is tied for 5th.
