The Connecticut Sun could not make it five wins in a row. They lost their Wednesday night game against the visiting Los Angeles Sparks by a final score of 87-81, ending their winning streak at four games.
Connecticut took a 45-40 lead into halftime. It was tied at 66-66 heading into the fourth quarter. From there, it was all Los Angeles, as the Sparks scored 21 points to just 15 for the Sun.
The Sun had five players in double figures. Tina Charles led the way with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Kara Lawson had 16 points, and Asjha Jones, Renee Montgomery and Tan White also finished with double figures.
It was not enough to counter the 33 points from Candace Parker, who also had 16 rebounds and eight assists. Two others from the Sparks topped double figures in the win.
Now sitting at 6-2, the Sun take on the New York Liberty on Friday.
