Red Sox Vs. Orioles Score Update: Sox Headed To Extra Innings, Tied 4-4

A shaky inning for Vicente Padilla and the Boston defense proved enough opportunity for the Orioles to tie up the game in time to force extra innings on the Red Sox.

The damage came in the seventh as Mark Reynolds managed to guide a ground ball perfectly down the third base line for a leadoff double. Adrian Gonzalez was responsible for the next baserunner, firing an ill-advised throw to third rather than taking the easy out at first even though Reynolds was almost guaranteed to be safe. This would prove very costly as the double play that followed a walk of Robert Andino allowed the Sox to turn two. Had there already been the one out, then that would have been the inning. Instead it was good for the equalizer.

The Red Sox had a chance to end the game in the ninth as Ryan Sweeney led off the inning with a single, but after a sacrifice bunt by Kelly Shoppach, Mike Aviles and Will Middlebrooks could only ground out.
