French Open 2012 Results, Round 2: Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray Advance, John Isner Falls After Marathon Match

Day 5 at Roland Garros in the 2012 French Open saw the second-longest match in the event's history between No. 10 seed John Isner and Paul-Henri Mathieu.

Isner dropped the five-set, 5 hour and 41 minute marathon to Mathieu, 6-7 (2), 6-4, 6-4, 3-6, 18-16.

In other action on Thursday:

Men's No. 2 seed Rafael Nadal cruised against Denis Istomin in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2, 6-0.

No. 4 seed Andy Murray defeated Jarkko Nieminen, 1-6, 6-4, 6-1, 6-2.

The No. 5 seed, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, defeated Cedrik-Marcel Stebe, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1.

On the Women's side of the draw, No. 4 seed Petra Kvitova was a straight-set winner over Urszula Radwanska, 6-1, 6-3. The No. 2 seed, Maria Sharapova, had her match against Ayumi Morita postponed.
