Duke Vs. Maryland, 2012 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Tournament: Maryland Upsets Duke, Advances To Championship

Maryland defeated Duke in the 2012 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Tournament on Saturday, in one of the tournament's larger upsets. Duke came in as the third seed, while Maryland was un-seeded.

Despite losing a low-scoring (6-5) affair to Duke earlier this season, the Terrapins beat the Blue Devils in convincing fashion, 16-8, in the 2012 Tourney. The victory earns them a spot in the National Championship game, against the number one-seeded Loyola Greyhounds.

Drew Snider led the Terrapins with four goals, but also got multi-goal performances from Owen Blye, Billy Gribbin and Kevin Forester. Kevin Cooper led the way with four assists.

The championship game is scheduled for Monday, May 28, at 1:00 PM EST, and will be televised on ESPN.
