Jake Beebe Happy for Opportunity with Boston Cannons

The hero on Saturday night's 15-3 win over the Rochester Rattlers was Ari Sussman, but also scoring four goals was Jake Beebe. Beebe, a Springfield native, was playing in his first ever Major League Lacrosse game.

"It was an incredible feeling." said Beebe on Tuesday afternoon. "I was so happy to have the opputunity to play, and i didnt want to let it go to waste."

Beebe saw some time with the North American Lacrosse League's Boston Rockhoppers this winter, but other than that this was his first ever pro lacrosse game. He had been on the Cannons practice roster last season when they won the MLL Championship.

Beebe rose in a game in which the Cannons did not have their best players active. "That was a big win for us." he said. "We played very well as a team and our defense was outstanding. Holding any MLL team to 3 goals is almost unheard of."

The Cannons this week will be taking on the expansion team Charlotte Hounds at home. "Look to play again as a team, and push as much transition as possible. I think that we are a team that is capable of pushing transition and capatalixing off of the odd man situations."
