The Red Sox have announced that the team will make up the postponed game against the Yankees from Sunday, April 22 with a Day - Night doubleheader on Saturday, July 7.
The make-up game will start at 12:35 p.m EST., with the second game starting as originally scheduled at 7:15 p.m. The team will honor tickets from the April 22 game for the morning half of the doubleheader. The day game will be broadcast on NESN and WEEI, with the nightcap covered by FOX.
Since the rain-out, the Sox have been on an absolute tear, winning 7-of-8 to manage an even .500 record in April--an almost unthinkably fast recovery from their 4-10 start. In that sense, the rain-out may have been the best thing they could have hoped for, giving them some rest to get their heads on straight and moving one of the crucial games against the Yankees out of a period of slumping.
