Big East Tournament 2012, UConn Vs. DePaul Final Score: Huskies 81, Blue Demons 67

The Connecticut Huskies began the Big East Tournament by thrashing DePaul, ousting the Blue Demons 81-67 behind 25 points from Jeremy Lamb and 19 from Ryan Boatright.

UConn entered the postseason with nine losses in its final 13 regular season games, but wasted no time distancing itself from DePaul early Tuesday afternoon at Madison Square Garden. The Huskies hit seven of nine three-pointers in the first half to build a 46-33 halftime lead, then opened the second half with a 15-4 run to take a 61-37 advantage.

DePaul would recover, scoring 24 of the next 31 points to cut the score to 70-61 with 6:40 left. But Lamb was fouled on a three-pointer on the following possession and hit two free throws, sparking a 6-0 UConn run that put the game out of reach.
