The 2012 NCAA Hockey Tournament will begin on Friday, with half of the 16 teams in action, including the field's number two and three overall seeds, Michigan and Union. The Tournament's one seed, Boston College, will play on Saturday.
Miami (OH) went 24-14-2 overall in the regular season and 16-7-5-2 in the CCHA. This marks the team's 10th tournament appearance in school history. They have made the Frozen Four in two of the previous three seasons.
Lowell is making their first tournament appearance since 1996, and only fourth all-time. They followed up an atrocious 5-24-5 record one season ago with a sparkling 23-12-1 record this year.
