CAA Tournament 2012: Northeastern Takes On William & Mary

After finishing 9-9 in CAA conference play this season, the Northeastern Huskies have earned the seventh seed in the conference tournament and will play William & Mary in opening round action on Friday night (6 p.m. EST).

The rubber match between the two schools will determine which team will earn the right to take on Virginia Commonwealth -- the conference's second seed -- in quarterfinal action on Saturday.

The game will be played at a neutral site at the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, VA, which presents William & Mary (also located in Virginia) with an edge. In the two previous meetings this season, the home team came out victorious, with Northeastern most recently falling by 25 to the Tribe on Feb. 11. Quincy Ford, Northeastern's talented freshman forward, had a career-best 21 points on that night, and will look to duplicate his output again on Friday.

Should Northeastern squeeze out the opening round win, a rematch with Virginia Commonwealth -- who reached the NCAA's Final Four a season ago -- awaits them. In the schools only matchup this season, the Huskies hung close before falling 59-56 on the road.

A full schedule for Friday's action is below:

First Round, Friday, March 2:

Noon ET: (8) James Madison Dukes vs. (9) UNC-Wilmington Seahawks

2:30 p.m.: (5) Delaware Blue Hens vs. (12) Towson Tigers

6 p.m.: (7) Northeastern Huskies vs. (10) William & Mary Tribe

8:30 p.m.: (6) Georgia St. Panthers vs. (11) Hofstra Pride
