CAA Standings 2012: Northeastern Aims To Finish Regular Season Over .500 In Conference Play

Northeastern looks to finish above .500 in conference play with a win at Delaware on Saturday.

With one game remaining in their regular season schedule, the Northeastern Huskies find themselves with a chance to finish above .500 in conference play and finish in the top half of the CAA standings.

The Huskies currently stand at 9-8, with a regular season finale scheduled for Saturday at Delaware, whom they previously beat at home. A win Saturday coupled with a loss by Georgia State to William & Mary would secure the sixth seed in the CAA Tournament for Northeastern, which will be held March 2 - 5 in Richmond, VA.

Northeastern will be forced to win four games in four days to secure an unlikely NCAA tournament bid, and it's probably to include a match-up with Virginia Commonwealth or George Mason -- two of the conferences top teams -- in the quarterfinals, should the Huskies advanced past the opening round.

Drexel, who has won 16 straight games, has clinched the top seed in the conference tournament.
