Bruins Vs. Rangers Score Update: New York Takes 2-0 Lead After First Period

The Bruins were looking to go into the first intermission with just a one goal deficit, however, with 12 seconds left in the period, and a bad turnover in Boston's zone, Ryan McDonagh doubled the score with a wrister from the left side, making it 2-0 after the first 20 minutes.

It didn't take long for the Bruins to get setback right from the getgo either. Zdeno Chara took the first penalty of the game, getting called for a delay of game for closing his hand on the puck. And the Rangers immediately capitalized.

10:09 into the period, Ryan Callahan made his mark early, netting his sixth goal in four games. Marian Gaborik found Michael Del Zotto down in the zone, who then crossed the puck across the slot to Callahan who just pushed the puck in the net for his 23rd goal of the season.

Henrik Lundqvist remained a wall in net, stopping all 10 Bruins shots. Tim Thomas also stopped 10-of-12 for Boston.
