Patriots vs. 49ers injury report: Nearly 20 listed as questionable for Patriots

Tight end Rob Gronkowski is listed as questionable to return against the 49ers this Sunday.

It's fairly typical of the New England Patriots to list an inordinate number of players on their injury report on a weekly basis. Ahead of this Sunday's match-up with the San Francisco 49ers, it's no different. Nineteen players are listed as questionable for the Patriots including some that Pats fans would love to see back on the field.

Tight end Rob Gronkowski is listed as questionable as he deals with a forearm and hip injury. His tight end cohort Aaron Hernandez is also listed as questionable as he contends with an ankle injury. Cornerback Aqib Talib is also listed as questionable while sporting a hip injury. Wide receiver Wes Welker was also listed as questionable with an ankle injury.

Here's a look at the full list of those who are listed as questionable on the injury report from the Patriots website.

Kyle Arrington CB Knee (LP)
Ron Brace DT Elbow (LP)
Patrick Chung S Shoulder / Hamstring (LP)
Dan Connolly G Back (LP)
Alfonzo Dennard CB Hamstring (LP)
Rob Gronkowski TE Forearm / Hip (LP)
Aaron Hernandez TE Ankle (LP)
Dont'a Hightower LB Hamstring (LP)
Chandler Jones DE Ankle (LP)
Kyle Love DT Not Injury Related (LP)
Brandon Lloyd WR Knee (LP)
Logan Mankins G Ankle / Calf (LP)
Nick McDonald OL Shoulder (LP)
Nate Solder OL Abdomen (LP)
Brandon Spikes LB Knee / Ankle (LP)
Aqib Talib CB Hip (LP)
Sebastian Vollmer OT Back/Knee (LP)
Wes Welker WR Ankle (LP)

The Patriots are getting ready for a big game for both teams against the 49ers. A win for the Patriots combined with a Houston Texans loss could bump them up to the first spot in the AFC while a win for the 49ers could all but lock up the NFC West.
