2012 College Football schedule: Boston College will host No. 4 Notre Dame

The Boston College Eagles will be back at home on Saturday, hosting Notre Dame.

Bob DeChiara-US PRESSWIRE

Boston College returns home this week to face one of the top teams in the country, as the Eagles are set to host No. 4 Notre Dame.

With their 28-14 loss to Wake Forest on Saturday, Boston College was eliminated from postseason eligibility, but will now look to play the role of spoiler. The Eagles will face a Notre Dame team firmly in the BCS national championship discussion. The Irish are 9-0, although they are coming off a narrow 29-26 overtime win against Pittsburgh.

The Connecticut Huskies will also return home this week as they will host Pittsburgh on Friday. The Huskies have lost four straight games and will now need to win their final three regular season contests to become bowl eligible. Friday will be UConn's first home game since October 13. The Huskies are 2-2 at home this season.

Coming off a 63-0 loss to Northern Illinois, the Massachusetts Minutemen are still in search of their first win of the 2012 season. UMass will be on the road this weekend, traveling to Akron to play the 1-9 Zips. While Massachusetts is riding a nine-game losing streak, Akron has lost seven straight games.
