The Connecticut Huskies have struggled in the first half on the road, but only find themselves trailing the South Florida Bulls 7-3 at halftime. Both teams are looking for their first wins in Big East play this season.
The UConn offense has failed to move the ball effectively in the first half, especially on the ground. The Huskies only have two total rushing yards in 14 attempts. Quarterback Chandler Whitmer has had an average day throwing the ball, completing 11 of his 16 passes for 125 yards. Lyle McCombs has been Whitmer's favorite target so far, hauling in three receptions for 28 yards.
The Huskies defense played a better first half than the offense, holding the Bulls to 185 total yards. Quarterback B.J. Daniels is 11/15 on the day, throwing for 114 yards and an interception. Daniels also rushed for the Bulls sole touchdown. Demetris Murray is the leading rusher for USF, carrying the ball six times for 34 yards.
