A perfect 12-0 regular season is a nice way to make your claim for No. 1 and the SB Nation BlogPoll voters agree. Notre Dame remained atop the BlogPoll, earning 61 of 71 first place votes to take the top spot after wrapping up their perfect run with a win over USC in Los Angeles.
The entire top four actually remains unchanged from a week ago, with Alabama picking up five first place votes and holding steady at No. 2. They are followed by Oregon and Georgia. Florida rounds out the top five, while Ohio St. jumped up a spot as well to No. 6 after completing their own perfect season, with Kansas St. falling two places so the Gators and Buckeyes could move up.
Texas suffered the biggest fall this week in the BlogPoll, dropping seven spots to 25th after being upended by TCU. Northwestern made the biggest gain, moving up seven spots to join the top 25 at 21st.
The ACC's woes continued with Florida St.'s loss to Florida dropping them five spots to No. 13, where they are still the highest ranked ACC team. That is better than the Big East. which does not have a team in the top 25.
