Boston University vs. St. Lawrence score update: Local boy strikes to give Terriers 2-0 lead

In a period that was dominated by SLU senior netminder Matt Weninger and his defense, the No. 10 Boston University Terriers doubled their lead in the final 90 seconds of the middle stanza to take a 2-0 lead over the visiting Saints at Agganis Arena.

The Terriers held a 39-15 shots advantage following the second period, including an astounding 22-7 edge in the stanza alone. However, the Terriers have been unable to cash in on any of their three power-play chances in the contest and are scoreless in each of their last 14.

Weninger, who also made 21 saves to beat Northeastern at Matthews Arena on Friday, faced 32 total chances in the period, while five shots were blocked on their way in.

As for the goal, Reading native and St. John's Prep alumnus Sam Kurker scored his first tally as a Terrier with 1:06 to play in the stanza as he cashed in on the back end of a 2-on-1 with junior Sahir Gill, beating Weninger low on the five-hole.
