Patriots vs. Jets final score: New England demolishes New York in 49-19 road victory

The Patriots were held scoreless in the third quarter, but remained in control of the football game as we entered the fourth and final frame of play at MetLife Stadium. With a 35-12 lead, New England began the fourth with possession of the ball in New York territory.

Quarterback Tom Brady would seal a 17-play scoring drive with a one-yard touchdown run that extended the New England lead to 30, at 42-12. On their next drive, the Jets would turn the ball over once again, as wide receiver Chaz Schilens put the football on the ground and it was covered by Rob Ninkovich of the Patriots. Just two plays later, tailback Stevan Ridley would take it in for a touchdown, extending the New England lead to 49-12.

With just more than two minutes to play, Jets' quarterback Mark Sanchez found his tight end, Dustin Keller, open for a touchdown from just three yards out. The score cut the New England lead to 49-19.

Unfortunately for the New York crowd who continuously chanted for "Tebow" all evening, it was simply a case of way too little, way too late, as the Patriots held on for a convincing 49-19 win over their division rivals.
