Darko Milicic's days with the Boston Celtics may be numbered. Milicic is reportedly considering to leave the Celtics to be with his ill mother in Serbia, Yahoo! Sports reports. Celtics coach Doc Rivers told Milicic to take some time to mull the decision, and if he chooses to leave, he would do so for the rest of the season. Milicic is also frustrated with his role in Boston, per Yahoo!.

Darko Milicic is leaning strongly toward leaving the Boston Celtics for the season and returning to Europe to be with his ill mother, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Boston coach Doc Rivers met with Milicic recently and told him to take time to make a decision on his family and future, sources said. Milicic had been productive in the preseason, but has fallen behind Jason Collins in the Celtics' rotation.

Milicic has appeared in one game this season with Boston, playing five minutes and recording a rebound, two turnovers and a personal foul. Milicic is a former No. 2 overall pick who has never lived up to the billing. Through 468 games in the league, Milicic has averaged 6.0 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.3 blocks.
