The continually improving Boston Celtics will have an opportunity to shown just how good they can be when they take the court against the dismal Detroit Pistons on Sunday evening at the Palace Of Auburn Hills in Detroit, MI.

Boston (6-3) returned to the win column in its last game, a 107-89 victory over the Detroit Pistons paced by Rajon Rondo's second 20 assist game of the season and his seventh career. In the process, Rondo extended his streak of games with double-digit assists to 33 -- the third longest streak in NBA history. Jason Terry scored a game-high 20 to lead a Celtics offense that shot better than 70 percent from the field in the first quarter. Paul Pierce chipped in with 19 points as Boston took advantage of an injury-plagued Raptors team.

Pierce continues to lead the Celtics in the scoring department, averaging 19.9 points per game. Rondo leads the team -- and the league -- in dimes with an average of 13.4 assists while Kevin Garnett is putting forth his usual effective averages of 15.1 points and 7.7 boards.

Detroit (1-9) has just one win on the season as it strives to find an identity and return to the glory days. The Pistons rank in the bottom half of the league in points for (93.0 PPG), rebounds (38.8 RPG) and points allowed (99.8 PPG), but do boast a top ten passing game that averages 22.0 dishes pet tilt. Greg Monroe has continue to emerge as the top dog in Detroit, averaging team highs in points (16.5 PPG), rebounds (9.5) and surprisingly steals (1.6 SPG).

Sunday night's battle marks the first of three meetings between Boston and Detroit. Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m. ET and the game will air on CSNNE/WEEI.
