With all of Boston's professional teams off Tuesday, the spotlight turns to college hoops, as a pair of regional teams square off in early morning action as part of ESPN's college basketball tip-off marathon.
↵College basketball: Harvard Crimson vs. UMass Minutemen, 10 a.m., ESPN: 10 a.m. isn't your typical start time for a college basketball game, but Harvard will head down the road to Amherst as part of ESPN's 24 hours of college hoops Tuesday. The marathon tipped off midnight Monday in Washington, kept going through the wee hours of the night in New Mexico and Hawaii, and will finish strong through some marquee games this evening. The Crimson and Minutemen certainly aren't the worst game: both have the potential to go dancing this season. UMass has some important suspensions early but should be competitive in possibly the deepest Atlantic 10 conference ever in hopes of making their first NCAA Tournament since 1998. Harvard will try to repeat as Ivy League champions after making their first tournament appearance since 1946, despite the academic-related withdrawal of seniors Brandyn Curry and Kyle Casey.
