Boston College vs. Florida International halftime score: Eagles takes 49-33 lead

CHESTNUT HILL - An up-tempo and physical style of play allowed the Boston College Eagles to open up a 49-33 lead after twenty minutes in the season opener against the Fla. International Golden Panthers inside Conte Forum.

The Eagles opened up a 12-5 lead at 17:13, but a quick run from the Golden Panthers cut the deficit to 16-14 with 14:57 left. By that point, Olivier Hanlan had scored six quick points in his collegiate debut. After back-to-back threes from Patrick Heckmann, BC went ahead 24-18 with 11:44 remaining. The Eagles closed out the half on a 15-13 run.

Ryan Anderson led the Eagles with 17 points and Hanlan had eight at the break. Tola Akomolafe's 10 points paced the Golden Panthers.
