Boston College vs. Notre Dame score: Eagles losing 21-3 to Irish heading into fourth quarter

The Boston College Eagles are running out of time in their upset bid against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and currently trail 21-3.

Notre Dame had the first possession of the second half, starting with the ball at their own 35-yard line. The Irish moved the ball down the field through the air, with Everett Golson going 5-7 on the drive for 62 yards. The drive ended with a Notre Dame touchdown, an 18-yard Golson pass to John Goodman, which pushed the lead to 21-3.

Boston College started their first drive of the second half at their own 29 yard-line. The Eagles converted two third downs, but their offense stalled around midfield. Boston College attempted to convert a 4th-and-14 from the Notre Dame 39 yard-line, but turned the ball over on downs after an incomplete pass.

The Fighting Irish did not capitalize on the strong field position and punted the ball back to the Eagles. The punting unit did its job, downing Boston College at their own 14-yard-line. The Eagles offense had driven the ball past midfield into Irish territory when the third quarter came to a close.
