Boston College has officially announced the hiring of former Miami (OH) athletic director Brad Bates as its newest Director of Athletics, the school announced in a press conference on Tuesday afternoon in the Yawkey Center.

Chris Curtis of 98.5 The Sports Hub originally reported that Boston College would hire Army athletics director Boo Corrigan, but former Boston Globe reporter Mark Blaudschun wrote on his blog, AJerseyGuy.com, that the school might have other plans.

Boston College to hire Boo Corrigan as new AD
Boo Corrigan will reportedly be hired as the next Director of Athletics at Boston College, according to 98.5 The Sports Hub producer Chris Curtis. Corrigan most recently serves as the athletics director at Army.
