The college football season is nearing the halfway point and the Big East continues to be wide open at the top of the standings. Rutgers is currently in first place with a 5-0 record, including a perfect 2-0 mark in conference play with wins over Connecticut and South Florida. Louisville is also 5-0 this season, although they're yet to play any Big East teams thus far.

Cincinnati sits in second place with a 4-0 record. Their lone conference win was a blowout over Pittsburgh to open the season. Temple and Syracuse are also 1-0 in the Big East, although their overall records are 2-3.

Connecticut sits in sixth place with a 2-3 record. They lost their lone conference matchup of the season. Pittsburgh continues to struggle in their first year without coach Todd Graham, and they're now 2-3 with an 0-2 mark in the Big East. South Florida is in last place with a 2-4 record.
