Boston College vs. Army 2012: Eagles fans unhappy with loss

The Army Black Knights defeated the Boston College Eagles 34-31 yesterday at West Point, earning them their first victory of the 2012 season and sending Eagles fans home disappointed.

With the loss, Boston College fell to 1-4 on the year which, as pointed out by BC Interruption, SB Nation's Boston College community, eerily mirrors a similar loss suffered last season when the Eagles lost to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons to fall to 1-4 in 2011.

To see this program at 1-4 is simply inexcusable. Things have to change on the Heights. This is easily the worst football team I have seen play since hitting the Heights as a freshman over 10 years ago, and maybe even much longer than that.

Those sentiments remain in Eagles fans, as many have begun to call for the dismissal of BC head football coach Frank Spaziani.

Hopefully it's very clear to the next Boston College Athletic Director that action has to be taken. And soon. It may be a year (or four) too late, but if there's a positive to be taken away from this loss, it's that this point became crystal clear this afternoon on the banks of the Hudson River.

Next week, Boston College travels to Tallahassee to face Florida State.
