Boston College, still searching for its first ACC victory, welcomes Maryland to Chestnut Hill.

Greg M. Cooper-US PRESSWIRE

The Boston College Eagles will look for their first ACC conference victory Saturday as they welcome the Maryland Terrapins to Boston in a late-October conference showdown.

The Terrapins are coming off a tough loss to the North Carolina State Wolfpack, where they were unable to mount a late comeback behind backup quarterback Devin Burns. A late NC State field goal sealed the loss for the Terrapins, which fell to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in conference.

Unlike Maryland, which is keeping pace in the loss column in the ACC's Atlantic division, Boston College's four losses to open their ACC schedule have placed the Eagles at the bottom of the division.

The Eagles are coming off a tough, 37-17, loss to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, where the Yellow Jackets — on a three-game losing streak — saw an offensive explosion against the Eagles defense. Eagles quarterback Chase Rettig, who has 13 touchdowns on the year, threw two against the Yellow Jackets, but was intercepted once in the loss.

Date and Time: Oct. 27, 1 p.m.

Location: Alumni Stadium, Chestnut Hill, Mass.

TV: ESPN3

Odds: After opening as an underdog, Boston College is favored by a point or 1.5 points, depending on book.
