2012 AHL schedule: Providence Bruins host Springfield Falcons

The Providence Bruins prepare for two games this weekend.

The Providence Bruins will face off against the Springfield Falcons on Friday night. The Boston Bruins' AHL affiliate has won two games in a row, including a 3-1 victory over the Falcons on Oct. 20. Last season, neither team qualified for the 2012 Calder Cup Playoffs.

Springfield, meanwhile, started its season with three consecutive wins before falling to Providence. The Falcons are the AHL affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Friday's game will start at 7:05 p.m. at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence.

On Saturday, the Falcons will head to the XL Center in Hartford to take on the Connecticut Whale. The Whale are just 1-4 to start their season. They began the season with four straight losses, before getting a win on Wednesday against the Albany Devils.

The Whale, who are affiliated with the New York Rangers, advanced to the Eastern Conference semifinals during last year's playoffs. Saturday's game agains the Bruins will start at 7 p.m.
