Bobby Valentine, former Boston Red Sox manager, will appear on an episode of "Costas Tonight" on Tuesday. The program and Valentine interview with Bob Costas airs at 10 p.m. Eastern time on NBC Sports Network.
Valentine was fired on Oct. 4 after his first season as manager following a 69-93 season by the Red Sox. Valentine's Red Sox finished last in the American League East and were the first Red Sox team to have a losing record since the 1997 club which finished with a record of 78-84. The 2012 team was also the first Red Sox team to record 90 or more losses since 1966 (72-90).
The Red Sox were plagued by injuries throughout the season and also faced locker room issues for the second straight season.
After firing Valentine, the Red Sox have replaced him by acquiring Blue Jays manager John Farrell and reliever David Carpenter in a trade for shortstop Mike Aviles on Oct. 20.
