Boston College vs. Northeastern score update: Eagles in command over Huskies, 3-0

Things were very quiet on the scoreboard for most of the second period but senior Steven Whitney tickled the twine late in the stanza to lift the Boston College Eagles ahead by another goal.

After 40 minutes, the third-ranked Maroon and Gold held a 3-0 lead on the scoreboard and a 23-18 edge in shots on goal.

BC senior goaltender Parker Milner was tremendous in the stanza, making a whopping 13 more saves to equal a game total of 18 through the first two periods. He made the definite save of the evening with just over 11 minutes left in the stanza, robbing senior Garrett Vermeersch with the glove after taking a nifty drop pass from between the circles.

BC’s goal came at the 18:32 mark as Johnny Gaudreau fed Whitney for the pretty wrist shot through a screen, resulting in the second goal of the season for the Reading, Mass. native and Lawrence Academy product.

Despite allowing the late goal, NU’s Chris Rawlings also stopped 13 shots in the period for 20 overall.
