BracketBuster Matchups Revealed: Northeastern and Boston University Receive Good Fits

ESPN revealed the matchups for the 10th annual BracketBuster weekend and Boston fans have to be happy with the results. Both the Terriers and Huskies will face off against top squads from other conferences and get one more good test before their conference tournaments.

Monday evening the 10th annual ESPN BracketBuster weekend's matchups were revealed with Northeastern and Boston University both coming away with strong opponents. Northeastern will host Stony Brook, the current leader of the America East, Saturday February 18th at 1 p.m. at Matthews Arena. Cross-town rival Boston University will travel to Loyola-Maryland on February 18th to take on the Greyhounds who currently sit in second place in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.

Playing against a team from their former conference, Northeastern will look to win their fifth game in eight tries in BracketBuster matchups. The Huskies are already 2-0 against America East foes this season (Boston University and Vermont) but will have to face a Stony Brook squad that has won 10 of their past 11. Northeastern and Stony Brook last played in March of 2005, with the Huskies earning a 90-70 win, all-time Northeastern holds a 6-3 advantage.

The Terriers will put their perfect 4-0 record in BracketBuster games on the line, as they play a team from the MAAC for the fourth time in five years. Both squads currently sit in second place in their conferences with Loyola owning a 7-1 record at home and an RPI of 83. The two teams have met once before, back in December in of 1996, with Boston University earning a 71-51 victory in the first round of South Florida's annual tournament.
