2012 NHL All-Star Draft: Bruins Well Represented

The NHL All Star break has arrived, and a trio of Boston Bruins' players will head north to Canada's capital city of Ottawa to partake in the festivities.

The action kicks off tonight with the NHL All Star Player Fantasy Draft, during which Bruins' captainZdeno Chara and Ottawa Senators F Daniel Alfreddson -- the respective captains for the game -- will choose from the pool of designated All Stars.

This is the second year of the NHL's current All Star game format, in which two captains are selected through fan and NHL league office voting, with Chara and Alfreddson being charged with the duties this season.

Chara is joined by Bruins teammates Tyler Seguin (first appearance) and G Tim Thomas, who will make his fourth All-Star appearance in five seasons. Bruins head coach Claude Julien will coach Team Chara, and he'll be opposed by Rangers coach John Tortorella. Coaching assignments are determined by the two teams with the greatest points percentage at the All Star break.

After Thursday's draft, the NHL will showcase its league-wide talent on Saturday with the annual skills competition, to begin at 7 p.m. ET (NBC Sports).

The puck will drop in the 2012 Tim Horton's NHL All Star Game at 4 p.m. ET on Sunday afternoon, and can be seen in the US on NBC Sports.

This is the first time that the city of Ottawa has hosted the NHL All Star game.
