Despite being on the losing side of the scoreboard Saturday, UMass football senior tight end Emil Igwenagu did catch a pass in the East-West Shrine Game in St. Petersburgh, FL. Igwenagu caught a 21-yard pass from Florida Gators senior quarterback John Brantley during the third play of a third-quarter drive by the East squad, which ended up losing 24-17 in the 87th edition of the exhibition All-Star game.
↵Igwenagu (6-foot-2, 245-pounds) also had a pass intended to him on the drive's first play, however, it feel incomplete. The performance probably wont help the UMass captains 2012 NFL Draft stock too much, but it was good for him to get some action.
↵Currently, NFLDraftinsider.com has Igwenagu has him listed as a projected as the 29th-best tight end prospect. During his senior season, Igwenagu caught 38 passes for 375 yards and three touchdowns.
↵Igwenagu is a native of Bolyston, MA and is a graduate of Holy Name Catholic High School.
