Boston University Vs. Stony Brook Halftime Update: Terriers Lead 26-20 After Fast Start

Boston University played some of their best basketball at home all season in the opening minutes, and held on to take a 26-20 lead into the break. The Terriers jumped out to a 14-2 lead over the Seawolves and held a lead as large as 14 midway through the half, as the team hit over 50 percent of their shots in the opening minutes. A late Stony Brook flurry to close the half tightened the game and the Terriers have a 26-20 lead at halftime.

Senior captain Matt Griffin leads the Terriers with seven points in 14 minutes off the bench and fellow point guard D.J. Irving has added five points and three assists. Leading scorer Darryl Partin managed just two points on 1-of-6 shooting in the first half but the Terriers managed to mantain their lead behind 45 percent shooting for the half.

Senior forward Al Rapier has a team-high eight points for the Seawolves who ended the half on a 13-5 run. Guards Dave Coley (seven points) and Anthony Jackson (five points) were the only other Stony Brook players to score in the half.
