Frozen Fenway 2012: Boston College Faces Rival Northeastern

Frozen Fenway 2012 concludes on Saturday, with the Boston College Eagles taking on the Northeastern Huskies at 4:00 p.m. EDT after BC High faces its rival, Catholic Memorial, at 1:00 p.m. EDT in the first game of the doubleheader.

BC, ranked No. 4 in the nation, and Northeastern have met twice already this season, with the Eagles winning both games. Boston College won the season series opener, 4-3 in overtime, on a Bill Arnold redirect of a Patch Alber shot and topped the Huskies, 2-1, in the second meeting when Tommy Cross scored the game-winning goal with 2.8 seconds left.

Boston College (13-8-1, 9-5-1 HEA) is coming off a 4-0 loss to the UMass Minutemen on Friday night. Conor Allen, Peter DeAngelo and T.J. Syner scored the goals for the Minutemen in the victory. Brian Billett earned the loss, giving up three goals while Chris Venti allowed one goal for Boston College.

Northeastern fell to Boston University, 4-3, on Friday. The Huskies jumped ahead 2-0 after one period, but the Terriers responded with three second-period goals. Both teams scored one goal in the fourth period, allowing BU to prevail. ALex Tuckerman scored one goals and Ludwig Karlsson lit the lamp twice for the Huskies, which fell to 8-8-3 (4-8-2 HEA).

Last weekend, the UMass Minutemen escaped with a 3-2 overtime victory against the Vermont Catamounts and the Maine Black Bears defeated the New Hampshire Wildcats, 5-4, in overtime in the opening double-header of the event.
