Patriots Rob Ninkovich Fined $15K For Hit On Ryan Fitzpatrick

The New England Patriots suffered a tough loss last Sunday when the team was beaten by the Buffalo Bills 38-31.  The loss got a little bit tougher today for Pats linebacker Rob Ninkovich.

Ninkovich was fined $15,000 for what was ruled a helmet to helmet hit on Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick during the second quarter of the game.  Ninkovich received a roughing the passer penalty on the play, though the hit didn't appear to be deliberate.

The roughing the passer penalty was one of two handed out to the Patriots during the game, The other belonged to defensive lineman Kyle Love on a crucial play in the fourth quarter.  As of Friday, Love had yet to hear from the league office regarding his hit.

The Patriots were not the only ones to be fined during the game.  Bills linebacker Nick Barnett was hit with a $7,500 fine for throwing a Pats player to the ground well after the whistle in the fourth quarter.
