If a six run lead wasn’t good enough, how about nine? That’s the separation between the Sox and the Rangers now that Boston has tacked on three more in the sixth inning, taking a 12-3 lead.
The extra runs came on a Dustin Pedroia double that cleared the bases after Carl Crawford doubled, Josh Reddick singled, and Jacoby Ellsbury walked to load them.
Erik Bedard finished his afternoon strong, striking out four batters between the fifth and sixth innings. With Terry Francona turning to the bullpen in the seventh (Dan Wheeler recorded three ground outs), it seems as though Bedard will finally come away with his first win in a Red Sox uniform.
